67th Commission on the Status of Women (CSW67) / NGO CSW Forum

Vom 6. März bis 17. März 2023 findet die 67th Commission on the Status of Women (CSW67) und das NGO CSW Forum im UNO Hauptquartier, New York, NY statt. Seit 1969 hat ZONTA International den allgemeinen konsultativen Status und wird eingeladen, an der jährlich stattfindenden CSW teilzunehmen. So auch heuer wieder.

• Priority theme (Hauptziel): Innovation und technologischer Wandel, sowie Bildung im digitalen Zeitalter zur Erreichung der Gleichstellung der Geschlechter und der Stärkung aller Frauen und Mädchen.
• Review theme (Rückblick/Bewertung/Prüfung): Rückblick auf die angenommenen Ergebnisse der 62. CSW: Herausforderungen und Chancen bei der Verwirklichung der Gleichstellung der Geschlechter und der Stärkung von Frauen und Mädchen in ländlichen Gebieten. (agreed conclusions).

Während dieser zweiwöchigen Sitzungen diskutieren Repräsentantinnen und Repräsentanten der UNO-Mitgliedstaaten, NGO´s und der UNO-Teilorganisationen im UN-Hauptquartier. Sie untersuchen, kommentieren und beurteilen Entwicklungen, aber auch Schwächen und Mängel bei der Behandlung der Pekinger Erklärung und Aktionsplattform von 1995 (Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action) und der 23rd Special Session of the General Assembly (Beijing+5) im Jahr 2000.

Dem Hauptziel entsprechend wird die Bildung von Frauen und Mädchen im Zeitalter technischer und digitaler Veränderungen ein Hauptthema sein. Es gilt, die Kluft in der digitalen Bildung zwischen Frauen und Männern zu erkennen und wirksam gegenzusteuern. Es soll der Blick auf die Rechte von Frauen und Mädchen in der digitalen Welt geschärft werden.

Die Folgen und Ergebnisse jeder Sitzung werden zur Weiterverfolgung an ECOSOC- Economic and Social Council (UNO Wirtschafts- und Sozialrat) weitergeleitet.

67th Commission on the Status of Women (CSW67) / NGO CSW Forum

The 67^th Commission on the Status of Women (CSW67) and the NGO CSW Forum will take place at the UN Headquarters, New York, NY from March 6^th to March 17^th, 2023. Since 1969, ZONTA International has general consultative status and is invited to attend the annual CSW.

• Priority theme: Innovation and technological change, and education in the digital age for achieving gender equality and the empowerment of all women and girls
• Review theme: Challenges and opportunities in achieving gender equality and the empowerment of rural women and girls. (agreed conclusions of the 62^nd CSW).

During these two-week sessions there will be discussions, held by the representatives of the UN member states, NGOs and the UN organizations about developments, but also about lacks and failings in the treatment of the 1995 Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action and 23rd Special Session of the General Assembly (Beijing+5) in the year of 2000.

According to the priority theme, the education of women and girls in the age of technical and digital changes will be a main topic. It is also important to recognize the gap in digital education between women, girls and men so that it is possible to initiate effective and corrective actions. The aim is to sharpen the view of the rights of women and girls in the digital world.

The outcomes of each meeting are forwarded to ECOSOC- Economic and Social Council for follow-up.
