Start der „ZONTA 16 Days of Activism“
UN Internationaler Tag zur Beendigung von Gewalt an Frauen

Die „ZONTA 16 Days of Activism“ beginnen heute am 25. November, dem UN Internationalen Tag zur Beseitigung von Gewalt an Frauen, und enden am 10. Dezember, dem UN Internationalen Tag der Menschenrechte. In diese Zeit fällt am 1. Dezember der Welt-Aids-Tag.
Die „ZONTA 16 Days of Activism“ basieren auf der Kampagne „ZONTA sagt NEIN zu Gewalt an Frauen“. Sie konzentriert sich auf Aktionen zur Prävention von Gewalt an Frauen und Mädchen. Die Kampagne wurde 2012 ins Leben gerufen. Seitdem hat sie sich weiterentwickelt von der Sichtbarmachung verschiedener Formen gender-basierter Gewalt zu stärker wirkungsorientierten Advocacy-Aktionen, wie die ZONTA Kampagne gegen die Verheiratung junger Mädchen – „Girls are no Brides“.
Die UN-Kampagne „UNiTE to End Violence Against Women“ steht heuer unter dem Thema: „UNITE! Activism to End Violence against Women & Girls”. Das Ziel ist es, alle Menschen aufzurufen, Aktionen zur Verhinderung der Gewalt an Frauen und Mädchen (VAWG –Violence Against Women and Girls) weltweit zu unterstützen. Es geht darum, die Missachtung von Frauenrechten zu verhindern und eine gewaltfreie Welt für Frauen und Mädchen zu schaffen.
Beide Kampagnen ergänzen und unterstützen einander ideal.
ZONTA Clubs werden ermutigt, das ganze Jahr über, aber besonders während der „ZONTA 16 Tage des Aktivismus“, Service- und Advocacy-Aktivitäten zu organisieren, die sich auf die Beendigung von Gewalt an Frauen und Mädchen konzentrieren. In den ZONTA Clubs finden die verschiedensten Aktionen zum Thema statt. Diese ZONTA-Veranstaltungen auf Club-, Distrikt- und internationaler Ebene sollen das Bewusstsein schärfen, eine gewaltfreie Zukunft für Frauen und Mädchen zu schaffen.

Today, November 25th, the “ZONTA 16 Days of Activism” start. It is also the UN International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women. These days will end on December 10th, the UN International Day of Human Rights. World AIDS Day, December 1st, is in between this period.
The “ZONTA 16 Days of Activism” are based on the “ZONTA says NO to violence against women” campaign and focuses on actions to prevent violence against women and girls. The campaign was launched in 2012. Since then, it has developed from highlighting various forms of gender-based violence to more impact-oriented advocacy actions, such as the ZONTA campaign against young girls’ marriage – “Girls are no Brides”.
2022 the UN campaign “UNiTE to End Violence Against Women” has the theme: “UNITE! Activism to End Violence against Women & Girls”. The goal is to call on all people to support actions to prevent violence against women and girls (VAWG – Violence Against Women and Girls) worldwide, to prevent the contempt of women’s rights and to create a violence-free world for women and girls.
Both campaigns complement each other ideally.
ZONTA Clubs are encouraged to organize service and advocacy activities focused on ending violence against women and girls throughout the year, but especially during the “ZONTA 16 Days of Activism”. In the ZONTA clubs, a wide variety of activities on the subject take place. These ZONTA events at the club-, district-, and international level are designed to raise awareness to create a future free of violence for women and girls.
