Ute Scholz is the 2022-2024 President of ZONTA International and ZONTA Foundation for Women.
Since she was a young woman studying law in Germany, Ute has always been passionate about making a positive change in her community. As a proud ZONTA member for more than 27 years, she aims to use her experiences as an attorney and a ZONTA leader to elevate the organization’s presence and participation in the global conversation on women’s rights.
Recently, Ute joined Lynne Foley OAM, the chair of the ZONTA Spirit Working Group, for a conversation about her career as an attorney in Germany, the highlights of working with volunteers in an international organization and how Zontians can come together to build a better world for women and girls.
“The motivation [for me as a leader] is having the possibility we need to change things. That was a motivation in local government when you can really see [the changes in Germany] … That is also what is driving me in my volunteer work in ZONTA to see that we can have an influence and we can have an impact on women in the world. We can change things and bring it to a better world.”
